I’m Steven Hunter and am the preaching minister for the Glendale Road Church of Christ in Murray, KY. I hold a Ph.D. in humanities from Faulkner University’s Great Books Honors College. My M.A. is in Theological Studies from Rawlings School of Divinity at Liberty University. My research interests lie in theology and early church history, and I also enjoy dabbling in early American history. I’m also Sergeant-at-Arms and chair of public relations for the Murray Rotary Club and am a Reserve Deputy with the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.

My blog is about everyday Christianity up to and including honest appraisals of ministry. I am willing to say what most ministers fear to speak lest they should incur wrath. I’ve been in ministry since January 2007 and have ministered at five different congregations. A whole host of experiences, good and bad, have derived from those years in ministry, and I discuss them here with the hopes that they might help someone else as they serve Jesus. I’ve been at Glendale Road since Father’s Day, 2016 and plan to make this my forever home in ministry.

  1. I have enjoyed reading your articles through the year. I may not always agree with everything you say but I don’t always agree with everything I say!

    • No writer, me included, has a monopoly on all knowledge, but we do our best to understand things. All we can do is be as gracious towards others as we’d wish they to be to us, and I appreciate how you’ve always been kind and a dear brother.

  2. thank you for many fine articles i have enjoyed over the year. i may not agree with every thing but you make me think through my position.

  3. I’d like to correspond with you regarding your post, “My Fifth Great-Grandfather, Chief Mushulatubbee of Okla Chahta.” I am trying to understand more about this man and his family. I descend from a different Choctaw family, but some have tried to attach my family to Mushlatubbee. Perhaps your research can help me prove a negative.
